Fascinated by vermillion. The instinctive excitement provoked by the color of life. When passing through a torii gate, the mind mysteriously changes, and a space rises along with the approaching. Even though there are no walls or ceilings, you know firsthand you're not allowed to enter. The colors and lines create awareness in nature. We feel that the space seen within the individual is a concept unique to Japan. Artificiality and randomness. Between the natural and the artificial. The point is not to serve capitalism through the mass production of identical perfection. The individuality arising from slight fluctuations accumulated by the hand-made techniques may feel like a resemblance of life.
–––– 朱に魅せられる。本能的に、命の色に昂るからだろうか。鳥居をくぐると不思議と気が変わり、参道には空間が立ち上がる。壁や天井がなくとも、立ち入ってはいけない場所は肌で分かる。色や線が自然の中に意識を生み、個人の中に空間を見立てる、日本独特の概念だと感じる。作為性と無作為性。自然と人工の間。完璧に同じものを求めて量産し、資本主義に供するために並べ立てるのではない。手の技の集積によって、微かな揺らぎを灯せることに個を感じ、そこに生を見立てるのかもしれない。
